How do I join the Austria Philatelic Society?

There are several ways you can join. The web site has a link to our membership application which you can print out and mail to the address indicated.You can also contact a representative to have an application mailed to you. By selecting the Membership Tab, you will be taken to a page that shows contacts for a membership application and additional answers to questions you may have.

How much does a membership cost?

Our current membership fee is just $15.00 a year for U.S. members. All others countries are $22.00 a year. Depending upon when a person joins, rates are prorated to provide a flexible and affordable rate plan. Please see the complete schedule and other relative information on the Membership & Dues page.

What are the benefits of being a member?

There are several benefits of membership. We publish a quarterly in-color journal full of interesting articles about Austrian postal history. We also have two membership auctions a year. These auctions provide our members with a wide variety of Austrian postal items at an affordable price. Detail can also be found by using the Auction Information Tab.

How do I participate in the auctions?

One to two auctions are held per year. You must be a member in good standing to participate in the auction. As a member you may participate as a buyer, or as a seller. Please select Auction Info from the navigation bar for auction details. There is also a 10% commission on all purchased lots. The buyer pays 5% and the seller also pays 5% which adds to our treasury.

How do I participate in an auction as a buyer?

As a member you can participate in auction buying. the auction item list is mailed out with the quarterly journal in the month preceding an auction. You simply make your selection on a bid sheet and return it. If and when you are successful with your bids, you will be asked to pay for them by check, money order, or by PayPal. If you use PayPal there will be an additional charge of $1.00 to offset the cost of PayPal to the society. Plese see Auction Info on the navigation bar.
